It's advisable to wear loose-fitting, comfortable attire for the treatment. The session commences with a thorough review of your health history and primary concerns, followed by a physical examination. Once a diagnosis and treatment plan are established, acupuncture is administered.

The Treatment

Acupuncture needles typically cause minimal to no discomfort. Though it's natural to feel apprehensive about needles, acupuncture needles are extremely thin and differ significantly from hypodermic needles used in medical settings for blood draws or injections. Sensations experienced may vary.

The quantity of disposable needles inserted varies depending on the patient's condition. Typically, needles are placed in the extremities, known for their potent therapeutic effects. Patients remain in a restful state with needles in place for 20-30 minutes to allow the treatment to take effect.

Patients often report sensations such as warmth, heaviness, dullness, tingling, or numbness, while discomfort, if felt, is described as a fleeting, minor prick that swiftly dissipates. Many patients experience a profound sense of relaxation and heightened energy following treatment. While responses may differ, it's not uncommon for therapeutic effects to manifest hours or days after a session.
